Strong partnerships, whether with communities, customers, suppliers or our people, have been critical to our success to date.
Following a global search, earlier this month Tellus announced a strategic partnership with Amentum for our Chandler project, a world-first multi-national deep geological repository in the Northern Territory.
We’re looking forward to working alongside Amentum, a leader in global engineering, project management and solutions integration, headquartered in Virginia, US on the Chandler project.
To deepen our partnership, our Chief Operating Officer Steve Hosking and Technical Director Radiation Safety & Project Assessments Dr Bill Miller travelled to London to meet with the Amentum team.
Our meetings with Vice President Paul Pointon, David Rossiter, Project Director Waste and Head of Consultancy, and Senior Technical Advisor Dr Richard Cummings, focused on value chain mapping, preparing for the review of our safety case and approvals, repository design and construction, and waste operations.
Reflecting on the trip, Steve noted: “There’s a real sense of excitement about what is possible at Chandler. It’s a big project, but with Amentum’s support we’re focused on finding the most efficient and effective way to deliver an operational facility that can play a key environmental stewardship role in our region, and that will foster a strong partnership with the local community”.
The Chandler project strategic review will lead to a roadmap for overall project implementation and a detailed plan for the next steps, including scope of work, key decisions, key expertise required and cost and schedule estimates. With a lot of work ahead, it’s great to be sharing the load with a team who shares our vision.
