The West Australian: A better solution for AUKUS nuclear submarine waste

When there’s a safe and secure, world class disposal facility for low-level radioactive waste, why wouldn’t you use it?

That’s Tellus’ view in relation to a current Defence proposal to store radioactive AUKUS nuclear submarine waste indefinitely at HMAS Stirling in Western Australia.

“We think we can offer a better solution for the Government and the community, one that is faster, hopefully, cheaper, and certainly safer than creating another temporary, low-level radioactive waste solution in a built-up seaside community,” our CEO Nate Smith told The West Australian.
