Purpose and Scope

As a developer of world’s best practice geological repository waste solutions, Tellus Holdings Ltd and its related bodies corporate (together, “Tellus” or the “Company”) is committed to protecting the environment and to sustainable management.

We aim to generate economic, social and environmental value and to manage our operations and resources in a manner that creates beneficial outcomes for our employees, customers, community members, shareholders and other stakeholders with a view to ensuring the long-term viability of Tellus. Through carrying out Tellus’ purpose – to help clean up Australia’s environment of hazardous waste – we contribute more broadly to sustainability in Australia by enabling cleaner land, air and water, healthier ecosystems and safer living spaces for people. Respect for our environment is a core foundation of such purpose.

This Environmental Policy (the “Policy”) is communicated and understood throughout Tellus and is available to relevant interested parties, as appropriate.

This Policy applies to the entirety of the Tellus group of companies, its offices, operations and all persons under their control.

Policy Statement

Tellus will display strong environmental leadership by:

• Maintaining a strong focus on environmental compliance by aligning our operations with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, approvals, licences, permits and other criteria.
• Minimising pollution through environmentally conscious design and development of our facilities.
• Contribute to circular economy by seeking methods to reuse or recycling materials within the waste handling process, recovery and treatment of client wastes, where possible, and reuse or recycling of on-site generated wastes to reduce their environmental impacts.
• Improving efficiency in the use of natural resources, such as water and fossil fuels, by reducing the use, or engaging in re-use or recycling of natural resources relative to operational activities.
• Avoiding or reducing emissions of greenhouse gases.
• Making environmental decisions based on current scientific evidence.
• Maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS) that complies with the requirements of international standard ISO 14001.
• Minimising the significant adverse environmental impacts from our business through integrated environmental management processes to conserve biodiversity, habitats and ecosystems.
• Continually striving to improve our environmental performance and management system.
• Promoting initiatives, systems, values and behaviours through education and training that drive environmental sustainability.
• Motivating and influencing our suppliers and contractors to join us in our approach towards responsible and sustainable environmental practice
